Asheville Area New Construction (Low-Mid Range Part 1)

New Construction: Patton Cove, Valleywood Farms, Wildbrook Village

(Clyde and Waynesville)

It’s a new year but the real estate market has some of the same old problems. At the top of that list is availability. Housing only becomes more affordable when the supply can meet the demand. The good news is….. there is a ton of new construction going on in the Asheville area and that’s what were going to focus on this year. We’ll start by highlighting some low/middle ($300s -$400s) range communities in different areas around Asheville.

First, lets head a few minutes west on 40 to Clyde and Waynesville and hit 3 new communities. Just off Old Clyde Rd. between Canton and Clyde lies Patton Cove, a DR Horton project. There are currently 4 available homes ranging from 3-4 beds, 2-2.5 baths, 1,518-2,164 sqft, 1-2 stories, and 1-2 car garage at prices from $374,490 to $413,990. Patton Cove offers wonderful value for the location. Its just about 5 minutes to the grocery store, Haywood Medical Center, and I-40, minutes to shops and restaurants in Waynesville, 30 minutes into Asheville, and 30 minutes to hiking, fishing, and camping up toward the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A little farther west in Waynesville there are two new communities going up. Just east of downtown Waynesville is Valleywood Farms. This community lies on rolling farm land with some beautiful mountain views. Valleywood Farms offers 8 floor plans ranging from 1-2 stories, 3-5 beds, 2-3 baths, 1,343-2,820 sqft., and about $392,000 – $440,000. Each of the 8 models comes with a 2 car garage.  There are currently 4 available homes in this community with more to come. The proximity to downtown Waynesville is a major plus. It’s within 5 minutes of all of the shops, restaurants, and festivities on Main St.

To wrap it up we’ll head a little west toward Maggie Valley and then hang a right on Jonathan Creek Rd. to Wildbrook Village. This community is in the early stages of development and doesn’t have any homes available just yet, but it won’t be long. In addition, it will offer both single family homes as well as townhomes. Pricing hasn’t been set yet but the location and the fact that there will be townhomes in the community suggests that this will likely be the most affordable of the three communities discussed here. It’s not 5 minutes from Main St. but its just a bit over 10 minutes away and just under 10 minutes from Maggie Valley and it has easy access to I-40 and you can be in the Smoky Mountains National Park in just a few minutes.

All three of these new construction communities are relatively affordable and located in an up and coming area of Western North Carolina. Whether you want to be in the wilderness, at an event in Asheville, or just right at home basking in mountain culture, they’re great options for all stages of life.
